Looking Smart, Dancing Safely
At Kimberley Performing Arts Centre, all students are expected to wear the correct uniform for their classes. Uniform promotes a sense of belonging, allows teachers to assess technique and alignment effectively, and ensures students are dressed safely and appropriately for their chosen discipline.
General Uniform Expectations
✔ Correct uniform must be worn for every class.
✔ Uniform should be clean, well-fitting and worn correctly at all times.
✔ Underwear should not be visible.
✔ Minimal stage-appropriate make-up should only be worn when required.
✔ Students should bring a water bottle to every class.
Hair Requirements
Hair should be neat, secure and styled away from the face and neck.
For Ballet classes, hair should be worn in a neat bun with a hair net wherever possible. If hair is too short for a bun, it should be securely styled away from the face.
Students with longer hair in any discipline may be asked to tie it back for safety and to allow teachers to assess posture, alignment and technique.
Jewellery & Safety
To ensure the safety of all students, jewellery should not be worn during classes. This includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches and anklets.
Students are encouraged to remove all jewellery before arriving at KPAC.
For Cirque classes, all jewellery must be removed before participating. If newly pierced earrings cannot be removed, they must be securely covered with tape and approved by the teacher prior to taking part.
KPAC cannot accept responsibility for jewellery that is lost, damaged or causes injury whilst attending classes.
Cirque Class Requirements
For safety reasons, students attending Cirque classes must wear:
✔ Full-length leggings
✔ A fitted long-sleeved top
The following items are not permitted:
✖ Crop tops
✖ Shorts
Contemporary & Jazz Classes
Where socks are required, students must wear dance grip socks. Standard socks are not permitted.
Uniform Exchanges
Uniform items purchased directly from KPAC may be exchanged within 28 days of purchase, provided they:
✔ Are unworn
✔ Are in their original packaging
✔ Are accompanied by a valid receipt
