Our Performing Arts Centre has long been a place where people of all ages come together to learn, create, and connect. We offer classes for all ages in a variety of styles, including Dancing, Singing, Acting and Cirque, and pride ourselves on being an inclusive space that welcomes everyone, even those with little or no previous experience. Now, we are embarking on an exciting journey to raise funds for a new purpose-built building that will better serve the community and expand our reach. This post explains why this new building matters and how your support can make a real difference.

Why We Need a New Building

Our current facilities have served us well, but they no longer meet the growing needs of our community. The demand for inclusive classes and activities has increased, and our facilities are now outdated. The new building will be designed to accommodate all styles of learning and creativity, from Dance, Drama, Singing, Cirque and performance spaces. We want to offer state of the art facilities to our ever growing community.

The new space will also allow us to expand our role as a not for profit organisation. This means we can reinvest any income back into the community, creating more opportunities for people who might otherwise miss out. With experienced staff already delivering high-quality classes including our BTEC courses in collaboration with John Leggott College, the building will become a hub for creativity, learning, and social connection.

What the New Building Will Offer

The design of the new building focuses on flexibility and accessibility. Here are some key features:

  • Multiple studios and rehearsal spaces tailored for performing arts

  • Classrooms equipped for a wide range of activities, supporting classes for all ages

  • Community spaces for workshops, events, and social gatherings

  • Spaces designed to be inclusive, with accessibility features for people with disabilities

  • Affordable rental options for local groups and artists to use the space

This building will not only improve the experience for current members but also attract new people from the wider community. It will be a place where creativity thrives and where everyone feels welcome.

How Your Support Helps

Raising money for this project is a big task. We rely on donations, grants, and community fundraising efforts to bring the vision to life. Here’s how your support can help:

  • Donations of any size contribute directly to maintenance and equipment costs

  • Volunteering your time to help with fundraising events or outreach

  • Spreading the word about the project to friends, family, and local businesses

  • Participating in upcoming community events to show support and build momentum

Every contribution counts. By supporting this project, you help create a space that will serve generations to come, providing inclusive access to arts and education.

The Impact on Our Community

The new building will strengthen our ability to serve the community in many ways:

  • Expanding classes for all ages means more people can discover new skills and passions

  • Providing a safe, welcoming space supports mental health and social connection

  • Offering inclusive classes remains our ethos, ensuring no one is left out, regardless of background, ability or experience

  • Supporting local artists and performers through affordable space rental and collaboration

This project is about more than just a building. It’s about building a stronger, more connected community where everyone has the chance to thrive.
