Supporting SEN Schools Through Inclusive Movement

This week, Kimberley Performing Arts Centre (K.P.A.C) has had the pleasure of visiting three schools as part of our growing SEN outreach work.

We are delighted to be working with Trent View, Robert Holme Academy Brigg and St Luke’s Primary School, all of whom we will be supporting with inclusive movement sessions from after February half term.

Each school has been incredibly welcoming, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside staff to support pupils through movement that builds confidence, encourages physical activity, and promotes wellbeing in a safe and inclusive way. It has been wonderful to see how positively schools have responded to this provision and how keen they are to embed inclusive movement into their weekly routines.

This outreach work is made possible thanks to funding from Sport England, which is supporting the delivery of SEN-focused movement sessions into school settings. This funding allows us to extend our impact beyond the studio and ensure that children who may face barriers to traditional PE or sport have access to positive movement experiences.

Our SEN outreach will now continue as part of our weekly delivery, and we are hopeful that more schools will want to get involved as this programme develops. Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing good news stories from our time in schools, highlighting the positive experiences and progress we see through this work.

Please keep an eye out for our updates and stories. If you would like to know more about what we do, how we support schools, or how your setting could get involved with K.P.A.C, we would love to hear from you.
